How do I open my Utoppia account?

You can open an USD account using the app on your smartphone if you:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have a valid identity document (passport) from a supported country*
  • Do not already have an account at Utoppia
  • Have an address in one of our supported countries.
  • Have a mobile number that matches your country of residence and you own a compatible smartphone.
  • Additionally, after you sign up, we’ll ask you to take a picture of your identity document and a video selfie to prove your identity.
  • Once your identity is verified, you may be required to provide additional information and accept the legal disclosure. After completing any necessary steps, you’ll be able to deposit funds and use your Utoppia account!

*To open an account with Utoppia, you must have a valid identity document (passport) from one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Mexico. Also, you have to have an address in any one of these countries.

For now, this is the list of the supported countries, but don't worry! We are working hard to add more countries in the near future.

Where do I have to live and which valid identity documents and phone numbers does Utoppia support?

To open an account with Utoppia, you must have a valid identity document (passport) from one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Mexico. Also, you have to have an address in any one of these countries. Additionally, to open your account with us, your phone number has to match your country of residence. For example, if you live in Argentina, your phone number must be Argentinian.

For now, this is the list of the supported countries, but don't worry! We are working hard to add more countries in the near future.

Do I have to travel to open my account with Utoppia?

No, to open your account with Utoppia you don’t need to travel; all you have to do is download our app and register with a valid identity document from a supported country.

If I used to have an account previously with Utoppia, do I need to do anything?

Yes, and it's very simple! You need to log into the app using your credentials and upload the documentation, ensuring you meet the following requirements:

  • Have a valid identity document (passport) from a supported country.*
  • Your address has to match with the country of the supported passport.
  • Once your identity is verified, you may be required to provide additional information and accept the legal disclosure. After completing any necessary steps, you’ll be able to deposit funds and use your Utoppia account!

Why am I unable to sign up?

In order for your account to be successfully registered, please remember that you must meet the following requirements:

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You have a valid ID (passport) from a supported country.*
  • You do not already have an account on Utoppia.
  • Have an address in one of our supported countries.
  • You have a phone number that matches your country of residence and you own a compatible smartphone.
  • After registration, we will ask you to take a photo of your ID and a selfie video to verify your identity. Once your identity is verified, additional information and legal disclosure may be required.

*To open an account on Utoppia, you must have a valid ID (passport) from one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Mexico. You also need an address in one of these countries.

If you live in a country and have a passport issued by a non-supported country, don't worry, we are working hard to add more countries in the near future.

What are the fees for the Utoppia account?

Accessing an Utoppia account is completely free! The only fee is the inactivity fee of USD 3 per month. It will only apply if:

  • You haven't made any transactions on the account or card in the last 6 months.
  • Your account balance is less than 500.
How do I download the Utoppia app on my smartphone?

Our app is available on the Google Play store and in the App Store in the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Paraguay, Ecuador, and Mexico.

Why don't I see my previous balance?

If you had a balance and you see it at zero after our relaunch, don't worry:

In order for us to send the funds, you must send an email to support@utoppia.com with the subject “Balance Withdrawal” informing the beneficiary account details with the following information:

-Full name of the recipient

-Account number

-Name of the bank (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc.)

-Account type (checking/savings)

-Routing number

Please note that the withdrawal will be processed at the end of the month through regular ACH, so the crediting period may be 3 to 5 business days.

Where can I find my account details?

You can find your account details written on your account statement or under the “Profile” → “Account Details” section in the app. In the same section, you’ll be able to share your account details with your contacts.

How do I download my account statements?

Monthly statements are available on the first business day of each month and you can download them from the application by following these steps: “Profile” → “Monthly statements”.
